How most Nigerians  treat people based on socioeconomic status …The reality is that the level of materialism and sartorial profiling in Nigeria is irritating. It is so pervasive and brazen that most Nigerians don’t realise they engage in it. Most Nigerians choose to respect people based on their dress, car (or lack of it), house (or lack of it), position, wealth, etc. It happens in the church, on the street, in the university, at community meetings, on social media, in the market, and all over the place. Conversely, Western countries treat people first as human beings irrespective of their status. GOVERNOR GIVES CORP MEMBER N200,000, AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER GOODIES

In a bid to encourage Corp Members send to his state to remain committed to their mission of contributing to the development of the state, a Northern Governor has showered goodies on Corp Members. Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, on Tuesday, July 2, pledged N200,000 largess on each of the Batch B, Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state to serve. He said the largess was to encourage the 1,600 corps members to remain and serve in the state. The announcement of the bonus was greeted with loud cheers and applause by the corps members. The governor, who stated this during the NYSC Batch B, Stream 1 orientation ceremony held at the temporary camp in Paikoro, said that any corps member who ventures into agriculture can earn N500,000 monthly and announced N5 billion for the start-up of the new NYSC camp. Late DC Etop Essien  Etop Andrew Essien, a Deputy Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs died instantly while answering questions from House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts.  Essien who was born in November 1967, joined the NCS in 1989. He hailed from Nsit-Ubium LGA in Akwa Ibom state. The Media had reported that a senior customs officer have reportedly collapse and died during probe by the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee. JUST IN: NAFDAC CONDEMNS STORAGE OF FOOD IN REFRIGERATORS

Against the popular age long practice of storing cooked food in refrigerators for days and weeks by Nigerians, the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Administration and Control, NAFDAC has urged Nigerians to refrain from storing cooked food in the refrigerator for more than three days. Professor Moji Adeyeye the DG of NAFDAC  warned that cooked food stored in the refrigerator for days is susceptible to contamination by disease-causing pathogens, key agents of foodborne diseases that can lead to death.
