Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo today appealed to men of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, to be more professional in their course of duty.

The VP gave the exhortation while declaring open the 3day retreat organised by the NPF for senior police officers in Lagos under the theme “Repositioning the Force for the Challenges of Effective Policing in the 21st Century”.

While eulogising the officers for their great jobs which he said included the arrest of 1412 kidnappers within the last one year and rescuing 826 kidnap victims, the Vice President tasked the police to be more professional while arresting young men on the streets in the guise of arresting ‘Yahoo boys’.

“We have one of the best police force in Africa and in the world, and Nigerians cannot do without the police such is the reason they continually ask for better services from the police.

” We cannot for example arrest any young man who is carrying laptops on the streets in the guise of arresting ‘Yahoo Yahoo boys’, we have to be more professional in our duties”. He said.
