The Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Hon. Ekanem Brown, the Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ekong Sampson, Mkpat Enin House member and other political stakeholders in the Local Government Area have applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for the donation of palliative materials to Mkpat Enin people.
Hon. Brown spoke at Mkpat Enin during the distribution of palliative materials including; rice, flour, garri and beans, made available by the state government for distribution to the 87 villages in Mkpat Enin LGA yesterday.
The Council boss said that the provision of food stuff to the people indicated that the Governor is a compassionate leader who is deliberately determined to ensure that hunger does not threaten the wellbeing of the people during the COVID-19 inspired lockdown, urging the people to receive the gifts with appreciation.
On his part, Rt. Hon. Ekong Sampson said that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s gesture speaks volume of his love for Mkpat Enin people and by extension Akwa Ibom people. He urged the people to be very civil in the Sharing of the relieve materials, adding that more palliative packages are coming to the people in no distant time.
Hon. Brown, the Commissioner -Ekong Sampson and SA on Power to the Governor, Engr. Meyen Etukudoh were on ground yesterday to supervise the loading of the relieve materials in Uyo, and transporting same for distribution to all the communities in Mkpat Enin for sharing to less privileged people who are worse hit by the lockdown.
