MINISTRY OF WORKS AND FIRE SERRVICE LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN ON FIRE SAFETY AND CONTROL

 

In a bid to stem the alarming rate of incessant cases of fire outbreak across Akwa Ibom State, the Ministry of Works and Fire Service has launched a media campaign tagged ‘Be Safety Conscious, Fire Outbreak is Preventable’.

 

 

The launch of the campaign followed a pledge made by the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga last week when he announced via a radio programme that his ministry would sensitize the public on the need to adhere to safety measures that could ameliorate or reduce the rate of fire outbreaks across the state to the barest minimum.

As at the time of this report, the ministry has sponsored radio jingles to be played across various radio stations in Akwa Ibom State for weeks, in addition to erecting billboards at strategic locations, earpiece advertorial on the front page of selected newspapers, in addition to the publication of the safety tips on social media.

 

 

Good spirited members of the public are encouraged to join in the spread of the life saving tips and exhort their loved ones against practices capable of exposing their homes or offices to the anguish of merciless infernos. 

Across all the platforms, the message remains the same.

 

 

BE SAFETY CONSCIOUS, FIRE OUTBREAK IS PREVENTABLE:

 

·        Keep your gas cylinders, generators outside

·        Switch off electrical appliances when not in use

·        Install sprinklers and fire extinguishers in your homes

·        Provide emergency exits in buildings and offices

SKIT MAKERS NOW TO WAIT FOR FG APPROVAL BEFORE RELEASING SKITS

Skit makers now risk arrest if they release their skits or contents without the approval of the relevant government agency.
