Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state has assured people of the state he would always invest the states resources only on viable venutures.

The Governor said this while reacting to questions bordering on the take off of the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility of the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.

Udom Emmanuel explained in a press briefing at Government House, Uyo that his administration is taking a second look at the project to ensure that airlines in the country and other countries without the facility would be willing to fly their aircrafts to Uyo for their MRO services before he commits to the project.

“I am not playing politics with development and as a business man, I understand the rules of investment. What I cannot do to my money, in all honesty I wont do to Akwa Ibom state money.

The MRO services are not common we need to get commitment from our airlines and other airlines within and outside Africa and be sure of patronage before we commit the amount of money that the investment demands
“We are still
talking with airlines concerning the MRO project and once we get Commitments we will raise money for the project”He said.
